Hi all
i hope this is the correct or at least the least incorrect forum to ask this question: i have a samsung galaxy note 4 but i am fed up with their laggy userinterface. i have therefore installed cyanogen (an unofficial android rom) on it and was quite happy with it until i installed skydemon which was running well on the original firmware. after the switch to cyanogen i could start skydemon, could browse a map but as soon as i had too many layers of information (i.e. terrain, roads and railways, names of towns a planned route and some weather information) the app froze and a message showed up from the os, asking me if i wanted to wait or close the iresponsive app. waiting didn't help, so in the end the only option was to force close the app. if i removed one layer of information, i.e. cancled the route or removed weather information from the chart, the app ran fine again.
now i realize, that none of this is skydemons problem, obviousley there is something wrong with a driver or something in the unofficial and unsupported android version i am using. for that reason i have switched back to the official samsung firmware and everything runs fine again..
my question is: does anybody have an ide what might trigger the crash from within skydemon? is there a name or somethgin for a method that opens up these layers and therefore reserves memory causes some rendering in the gpu to go on which then leads to the crash? i hope to capture a few inputs here so i can try to pinpoint the module or driver that is failing in my non-official android to fix it to then run skydemon on it.
once again, this is not an issue of skydemon and i am aware of that. skydemon runs perfectly stable on the official android version that was on my phone and i am so happy with skydemon that i am willing to live with the crappy samsung interface the entire week just to have my beloved skydemon on the week-end!
cheers pascal
